A few couples from SOCC have begun to meet weekly with international students on the UNT campus. These students are hungry to speak English and make American friends. What an opportunity to build relationships! The number of students has grown and we’re looking for more folks who want to host a conversation group. If you don’t want to host but are interested in other ways to get involved, the possibilities are endless: offer students a ride to Walmart, take them out for ice cream, invite them to a holiday meal, etc. If you’re gung-ho or just wanting to learn a bit more, contact Kathleen Prowell at 316-258-9281 or kathleenprowell@gmail.com.
