I think that there are many songs that speak to me. This song being one of them! It’s a song on hope and faith. It’s a song that reiterates and challenges the believer! What do you do when adversity hits and you crash and burn and feel as if you’re not going to make it? Will you bend? Will you break? Will you turn your back on God?

I think this song is our assignment for where we are right now as a church!

The word of the Lord calls us to be strong, not because of who we are, but because of who we belong to. If it was up to us to get through our own battles we would never come out on top, but because we know we have a Savior who came before us and laid the foundation, we can have that assurance that everything bad that there is and was can be overcome and truly become a testimony. This is a part of Discipleship! Have you guys ever heard the saying that “someone is always watching you”? I firmly believe this is true and it’s a part of our discipleship throughout our day to day encounters. God works through many different ways and one of the ways that he can work is through a person who at one point shared your storm, but came out of it completely delivered. That person may very well be the vessel God uses to strengthen you and give you extra endurance while you weather that same storm. God does not call us to be weak; he calls us to be faithful to him and to trust him.

Deuteronomy 28:1-10 says:

And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God. 3 Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. 4 Blessed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your herds and the young of your flock. 5 Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl. 6 Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.7 “The Lord will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. 8 The Lord will command the blessing on you in your barns and in all that you undertake. And he will bless you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. 9 The Lord will establish you as a people holy to himself, as he has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in his ways. 10 And all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they shall be afraid of you.

So you see, God hears us and he knows what we will endure before it comes, and joy in all this is the fact is that he has given us the weapons and the tools it takes to press on we are still able to say HALLELUJAH anyhow! We can’t just lift his name high when things are all good for us. We have to be consistent with our praise. In The Bible, Hallelujah Is the highest praise that you can give. So why not give Him our best when we know the outcome? The outcome may not happen when we’d like, but it still is the perfect timing according to his will!

I have a challenge for my family here at Singing Oaks. When we sing this song, I want us to remember who the praise is for, what’s the highest praise is and for us to sing with a different tone that is of Assurance and Faith! Raise a hallelujah in every aspect of your life!
