Trust in Him

As we grow older and mature throughout our lives, there’s no doubt that at one point or another we will come across situations that challenge our faith. We often seek answers from the universe when in fact we should turn our faith to God and place our trust in Him. “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.” 1 John 5:14. Confiding yourself in God will always guide you in the right path. God tests our belief in Him through trials. They can range from being mild to severe but at the end of the day, we learn from these outcomes and experiences that we must fully entrust ourselves to Him.

Matthew 14:22-33 (NIV) “Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it. Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. ‘It’s a ghost,’ they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: ‘Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.’ ‘Lord, if it’s you,’ Peter replied, ‘tell me to come to you on the water.’ ‘Come,’ he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’ Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. ‘You of little faith,’ he said, ‘why did you doubt?’ And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, ‘Truly you are the Son of God.’”

When you put yourself in the hands of God, you must trust in the decision that He makes. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6. If you are not sincere in your actions towards Him, then He is not going to help you flourish or grow because of your doubt towards Him. He places these unexpected situations in our path to find out how strong our belief in God is as well as what will be upcoming in your direction of life.
