Going……………

I read a lot of blogs. I’m an eternal student, and I’m always reading in an effort to learn more, know more, and be more. One of my favorite blogs is by our office manager Kim Cook entitled “Not by Might nor by Power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord Almighty. Kim and Chele’ Burnett, our Preschool Director, have taken on a new ministry to benefit our church and our surrounding community called Revelation Wellness. It is a holistic inreach/outreach ministry that embodies the living Spirit inside each of us by tackling physical health, mental health, and most importantly, spiritual health. While the ministry incorporates exercise and healthy eating as primary goals, Kim and Chele’ will tell you it isn’t about fitness. This ministry is about holistically empowering people to live their lives for our God who is always moving within us, around us, and for us. The following blog is by Kim Cook and my prayer is that you, the reader, will be inspired to “GO” wherever God is calling you to be, just as Kim and Chele’ are clearly “GOING” because, “His love never quits.” Be blessed and inspired.


Yeah But…

As I prepare for the Revelation Wellness Instructor Training, I find myself saying “Yeah but” a lot. This is so exciting in one moment and then I find the doubt creeping in saying,

“Yeah, but what if no one shows up?”
“Yeah, but what if people do show up?”
“Yeah, but you have no idea what you are doing?”
“Yeah, but who are you to teach other people how to live?”
“Yeah, but I can’t do that!”
“Yeah, but does this even matter?”
“Yeah, but have you met me??”

The list goes on and on and on….

I am so thankful that in every story in the Bible where God tells one of His children to do something, they have the same response, “Yeah, but surely you don’t mean Me.”, “Yeah, but I am certain that you are only kidding!” God has only one response to all of us…YES I CALLED YOU, AND I MEANT YOU!!!!! Now GO! He will equip us, He will teach us, and He will give us everything we need to do His work here along with Him. I don’t have words to even describe the fear I feel from time to time, that the next 12 weeks and those following are too “big” for me. That setting this up and making it happen is too scary. I am super thankful that this is not something I am doing alone. God has already lightened the load by half, so the excuse of “Yeah, but I am all alone” is useless.

The next 12 weeks would seem overwhelming if I didn’t have a friend to share them with. I can however, explain to you that when I read over the story of Jonah, or the story of Moses, or the story of Jacob and all the other people that God called to do something on His behalf, I find peace in knowing that He is always right there with them. He never leaves us, He has never once said “I would like for you to do this for me but, I am not quite sure you are the right person…”

When God sends His people, He never has a doubt. He does it because He is certain that we can. It is by His faith in us and through us that we are able to do things that we have never imagined possible! For that I am thankful!

20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,
