Kroger Neighbor to Neighbor Program

Kroger has a wonderful program whereby they remit to the church 1% of what our members purchase over a year’s time. This donation is important to our Benevolence Ministry and helps so many people in our community with food assistance. I would like to ask as many as possible to sign up for this year’s Kroger donation program. We may be over-emphasizing this, but it is hard to get the word out to all members and friends of Singing Oaks.

How the Program Works:

  1. Pick up your Customer Letter located at the greeter’s desk at both entrances in the church foyer.
  2. You must re-enroll every year. If you are currently enrolled, you have to do it again. This allows participants to change the recipient for this donation. You can only designate one organization each year. This letter is for Singing Oaks Church of Christ. If another organization gives you a letter for this program and you turn it in, it nullifies our participation.
  3. Kroger donates $1 million dollars annually. We need to get as many people signed up as possible. This is a very popular program and is growing each year. As more non-profits enroll in the program, the smaller the $1 million distribution becomes.
  4. We are given 1% of all dollars spent by you for groceries and medicine for the year. The more we spend each year, the larger Kroger’s donation to us will be.
  5. We received $2,231 this year, about $900 less than we received last year. Distribution of money earned is made on an annual basis usually in June.
  6. You can help by encouraging your family members, friends and neighbors to participate. They don’t have to be Singing Oaks members to participate. Pick up as many of the enrollment letters as you need and give to family and neighbors. The more we spend the larger our year-end donation will be.
  7. The New Year begins July 1, 2012 and continues through April 2013. Simply give your customer letter to any cashier along with your Kroger discount card at check out. Once your card is scanned you are then enrolled and your purchases will start accumulating.
  8. This does not cost you anything – it is a donation from Kroger and goes into our benevolent budget to be spent in helping the less fortunate in our community.
