One Blessing After Another

I love the passage in John 1:16 (NIV84) that says: “From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another.” Wow! The abundance of God’s grace and love is so much greater than we can imagine. And from that abundance and fullness they and we have received so many blessings in Christ. They come one after another and can never be exhausted. In times of struggle and times of joy blessings come from Him. We have just finished the month of February (though I know it was difficult for some), and I have felt continued blessings coming from above.

New members continue to come our way. In the month of February, 14 more people joined our family at Singing Oaks. They are: Sharon Stone Tendle, Michael and Susan Wheeler, Ernesto Valdez, Elise Raley, Erika Graham, Maria Lungu Post and grandchild Stephen, Samuel and Margaret Thuku and son Joel, Noah and Tracee Elrod, and Stephen Holleman. They join those becoming members last month making 28 for the January and February. That is incredible and possibly the most I have ever seen joining with us so early in the year. They are a blessing from the fullness of the Lord to his church, “…which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” (Ephesians 1:22, NIV84). We praise God for all of them.

I have felt the blessing of worshiping together. Nic, Ross and others continue to lead us in great worship times. The Spirit is present among us as we sing praises, pray, proclaim and commune at the table. And after those Sunday assembly times I have experienced wonderful fellowship in the hallways, Bible classes and during special events. Last week, especially I went home feeling really blessed by everything that happened. It was an incredible day of worship and fellowship together.

Increasing interest in being closely connected, outreach and discipleship is exciting for me and a blessing for our church and community. I believe this is the Spirit of God working in members and leadership. New ministries are developing and coming online that will impact us and those outside our walls. These include the Hispanic ministry, Friends Speak, Revelation Wellness and others. Many of you will be part of these ministries, be blessed by them and be a blessing to others.

Some have suffered great loss and pain in the past month, but what a blessing to be in a loving church where we are comforted in our time of need. I have seen and experienced this many times over. It is inexhaustible grace flowing from Christ through His people.

“One blessing after another” That’s how I see and feel about this past month.
